Event Raises $9,300 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
On
Saturday, September 12th, the 3rd Annual "Good Cause Get Together" took place at
Impact Performing Arts, and a total of $9,300.00 was raised to benefit The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The event was created by Kentlands resident
Christy Froehlich, whose 7-year old daughter Faith was diagnosed with Leukemia
at the age of 22 months. The event, which drew 145 people, featured food,
drinks, live music and a silent auction with over 60 items.
The funds raised at
this event specifically benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Light The
Night Walk," which takes place Saturday, October 10th at Rockville
Town Square. This family-friendly walk is an evening event (beginning at
5:30pm), and features a 2-mile walk route, live entertainment and children's
activities. If you are interested in participating in the Light The Night
Walk or making a donation to the Froehlich family's team, please

3rd Grader Emma Hoch and Alex’s Lemonade Stand
After losing a close family friend to breast cancer,
3rd Grader Emma Hoch and her parents, Mike and Kerry, were looking
for a way to a make difference.
Emma has always been a fan of lemonade and her parents
supported her lemonade stand but decided she also needed to support a charity.
For the last two years, Emma has set up an Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the
Kentlands-Lakelands 5k. She raised $500 her first year and $200 this year.
She’s also been known to set up her stand on a hot summer day.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) for Childhood Cancer
is committed to finding a cure for all children with cancer. The foundation
