Website Features

The RCES PTA website is chock-full of useful information and convenient features.  Please let us know what else you would like to see so we can continue to make the website even more useful.  Post your suggestions on the Feedback Forum or email them to webmaster@rces-pta.org.  Your feedback is important and appreciated.

Online Payments

You can now use any major credit card or PayPal to pay online for your PTA membership dues and renewals, PTA events, and donations to PTA-sponsored programs (School Tool Box, after-school clubs, yearbook orders) and fundraisers.  All payments are processed through the highly secure PayPal payment processing gateway.  You do not need to have a Paypal account in order to make secure online payments.  PayPal is owned by eBay, the online auction mega-site.  Read more about PayPal buyers' security features here.  Also see our FAQ page for additional security information.

Events Calendar

We now have an online Calendar of Events with the option to register and pay online, if necessary.  You can switch between a calendar view and a list view.  Simply click on an event to see the event details.  You can even click a simple link to quickly add an event to your Microsoft Outlook or Mac calendar.

Membership Directory

Online RCES PTA Membership Directory accessible to all PTA members which includes:

  • Members control how much of their data is visible
  • Members can upload photos of themselves and their children
  • Members can update their data at any time
  • Click on a member's name to send them an email
  • The directory is located in the secure members-only area in order to protect privacy.  Login is required to access it.

Online Resources

The public Things to Know page and the members-only Resource Center are full of useful reference data such as class rosters, cafeteria menus, school policies, bus schedules, meeting minutes, newsletters, school statistics, and more is being added all the time.  Let us know what else you'd like to see here by adding your comments in the Feedback Forum.

Knowledge Base

*The Knowledge Base contains downloadable information and presentations on relevant topics such as the articulation process, GT screening process, math acceleration, reading initiative, Baldridge, etc.  Many of these topics were originally presented by principal Larry Chep at his monthly Principal's Tea.  Others are culled from MCPS documentation and brochures on programs that impact our children at RCES.

School Store

*The RCES School Store is where you can buy RCES spiritwear t-shirts, bumper stickers, bracelets, etc. online.  Place your order online, pick it up at school.

New Feedback Forum

A new Feedback Forum for you to provide feedback on the website including things like:

  • A Wish List for you to suggest things you'd like to see added to the site
  • Problem reporting
  • General feedback

Links

*Links to important websites such as teachers' websites, MCPS sites, educational links, etc.

eMail Features

Members can choose to receive eMail reminders of upcoming events, the eNewsletter version of the Heron Herald*, email summaries (digests) from the Feedback Forum, and general emails sent to the whole membership.
